Alternative Energy

Today, most of the energy used in our planet is generated by burning hydrocarbons like oil, coal, and gas, and only a small percentage is generated by Alternative Energy sources.
Hydrocarbons are fosil fuels,  they are currently the main source of todays electric energy, the problem is that fossil fuel emissions have increased dramatically over the last 50 years, the massive amount of carbon dioxide  emisions in our planets atmosphere has terrible implications for the  balance of the earths ecosystem and is already bringing climate changes.

Climate change is happening now, and that its been caused by Us,  Sir David King, the U.K.’s Chief Scientific Advisor says that climate change is “the most severe problem that we are facing today, more serious even than the threat of terrorism.”

One of the solutions for this problem is to increase the use of alternative energy sources like solar power, wind power, biomass,  tidal power, etc . . .

In the past this has been difficult due to the high cost of alternative energy equipment, but the good news is that with todays technologycal advancements the costs are coming down to an affordable level and also many states and investment companies are promoting the use and development of such technologies via alternative energy mutual funds.

In the case of solar power we will see a dramatic drop in the prices in the folowing years due to the new solar cells beeing developed using nanotech materials, wich will produced using simple components such as mylar sheets  or paint.

Today simple solar cels can be made at home using manuals that you can find online ,  or you can take solar energy courses to take a more profesional aproach
